Using Groups and Selective Release in GeorgiaView Vista

ITS Outreach & Distance Learning Technologies is pleased to present the following workshops designed to enhance your online teaching experience:

GeorgiaVIEW Vista Learning Series– Groups/Selective Release
The Group Manager feature allows the instructor to create different assignments, discussion topics, etc., for different groups of students. The Selective Release feature allows the instructor to control when a folder or con-tent item is released to the entire class or a group of students. This workshop shows participants how to use the-se two features.

GeorgiaVIEW Vista Learning Series– Assessments The Assessments feature of GeorgiaVIEW Vista allows instructors to create quizzes to assess the knowledge of their students. Participants in this two-hour workshop will learn how to create multiple-choice, true/false, fill-in-the-blank, and other types of quizzes.

March is Faculty Introductory Video Month at the Distance Learning Center

Because most communication in an online course is text based it can be very difficult for the online learner to feel connected to the instructor. Studies have shown that an initial phone call can greatly improve future text-based communication however this isn’t always feasible. With a personalized faculty introductory video you can have the equivalent of that initial phone call to use with all of your online courses.
