If you are currently using the Georgia On My Line (GOML) readiness assessment, you will still find that available at: http://goml.readi.info/ . The KSU assessment relies on student NetID and password. Students will be able to start, stop, and return to the assessment at any time during their enrollment at KSU. We have the added benefit of being able to update and customize the homepage, as well as the assessment content and supplemental resources.

The KSU SmarterMeasure Assessment will enable us to create a more KSU specific online student success and retention program. Over the coming weeks, we will be working to export student completion records to Banner and to provide faculty with a mechanism/process to ensure students are completing the assessment. This is one more step in improving student readiness and success in online courses and programs.

Student engagement and outcomes can be affected by how an online course is taught.  Whether you are the original designer of the course or not, there are things the faculty should consider in regards to facilitation.  This session will address four factors that we have found to affect the facilitation of an online course and will be beneficial for any instructor, novice to expert and course designer to facilitator.Thursday, September 29, 2011

The ITS Outreach & Distance Learning Technologies department is pleased to offer First Fridays sessions to assist you with questions regarding computer software programs used at KSU. This service is being made available to provide as much technology assistance as possible to KSU’s faculty and staff members. Each session will be held in Room 477 of the Burruss Building. 

First Fridays is a collaborative effort of ITS, AVTS, and ODG. Trainers from the ITS Outreach & Distance Learning Technologies department, as well as GeorgiaVIEW Vista administrators from the Online Development Group, will be available throughout the sessions to provide technical assistance with various computer applications (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Zimbra, Dreamweaver, GeorgiaVIEW Vista, Wimba, Respondus, Drupal, Camtasia, Panopto, Prezi, Turnitin, Windows 7, Podcasting, etc.), as well as working with the iPad.

KSU faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of this free opportunity. No appointment is ever necessary, so if you have a technology question that needs to be answered, simply drop-in at your convenience anytime throughout the sessions.
